1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites you visit place on your device through your browser. They help the site recognise you, remember your preferences and provide a better experience.

Cookies do not contain information that personally identifies you, but they may store information about your device to enable a more tailored experience.

2. Types of cookies we use

Our site uses the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary — Required for the basic functioning of the site; the site cannot run properly without them. These cannot be disabled.
  • Performance — Collect anonymous statistics about visitor numbers, traffic sources and page performance to help us improve.
  • Functional — Remember choices such as language preference and provide personalised features.
  • Marketing — Track visitors across sites to show ads relevant to their interests. We do not currently use marketing cookies on this Site. If we ever add them, we will ask for your explicit consent first and update this policy.

3. Analytics and third-party services

We do measure how the Site is used, but we do so without tracking you. Our analytics provider does not use cookies, does not store any personal data and does not follow you to other websites. There is nothing here to opt out of, because nothing about you is being collected in the first place.

The third-party services running on this Site:

  • Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc.) — Counts page views and a small number of anonymous events, such as a contact form being submitted or a project being opened. It is cookieless: no identifier is written to your device. Instead a visit is recognised through a value derived from the incoming request, which is discarded automatically after 24 hours, so a session cannot be reconstructed across days or followed to any other website. What is stored with a data point is the page address, the referring site, approximate location (country, region, city), browser, operating system and device type. No name, email address or IP address is stored, and the events we send carry no free-text and no contact details.
  • Vercel Speed Insights (Vercel Inc.) — Records how quickly pages load and respond, so we can find and fix slow pages. It measures the page rather than the visitor: each data point holds the route, a performance timing, browser, device type and country, and it stores nothing that would identify you or link one page to the next.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare Inc.) — Checks that the contact form is being filled in by a person and not by a bot. This runs only on the contact page and may store a short-lived technical value on your device for that check. It is strictly necessary: without it the form would be unusable through spam.

These providers process data on their own infrastructure and their own privacy policies apply to that processing.

4. How to manage your cookie preferences

Because we use no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies, this Site does not show a cookie consent banner. There is no consent to give, and nothing to switch off. Should that change, we will add a banner and let you decide before any such cookie is loaded.

You can still delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may cause some features of the site to function incorrectly.
